Fortaleza Austral Spring 2023 workshop

We are pleased to invite you to Inspire – 6th Fortaleza Austral Spring School, an international school organized by the Postgraduate Program in Tropical Marine Sciences (PPGCMT) with the support of AirCentre (The Atlantic International Research Center).

This year, the school’s theme is “Tidal seas – how do the rising tides influence life in the tropics?” Save the Date: November 13th to 17th, 2023.

To address this topic, we will have the participation of several experts from Brazil and the world over five days. On the first two days (13th and 14th, November), we will have online programming with simultaneous English-Portuguese translation. In the last three days (15 – 17th, November), we will have three field courses taking place simultaneously. In parallel, there will be a side-event presenting video abstracts by postgraduate students from PPGCMT and partner programs. Video abstracts can be sent until November 8th.

Event Description: Climate change is placing significant stress on ecosystems worldwide. This event explores urgent actions needed to mitigate these impacts and strengthen adaptive measures for both ecosystems and the human communities that depend on them.

On 25-27th September 2023, SEA-UNICORN COST Action organises a Case Study Workshop on “Marine functional connectivity (MFC) and ecological coherence between the protected areas of the Adriatic and eastern Mediterranean”.
The upcoming edition will be led by Dr. Davide Seveso (University Milano-Bicocca), Prof. Giovanni Strona (Joint Research Center, European Commission, Ispra, Italy) and Prof. Valeriano Parravicini (Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes and CRIOBE, Perpignan, France).
